Bright Red’s board of trustees is made up of a diverse mix of business professionals, nursing staff and haematologists. Appointed by invite only, the trustees meet 4 times a year to plan for the future and decide how the charitable funds are spent.

Dr Gail Jones, Consultant Haematologist at the Northern Centre for Cancer Care

Charlotte Dickinson, Muckle Solicitors PLC

Dr Victoria Hervey, Clinical Haematologist at Sunderland City Hospital

David Tompkins, Retired Clinical Nurse Specialist at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust

Katherine McRae, Ward 33 Sister, Freeman Hospital

Bethany Sheldon, Treasurer of Bright Red & UNW

Supporting the trustees we have a group of Ambassadors. Our Ambassadors are either patients or relatives, and are committed to using their own experience to help our fight against blood cancer. This set up provides a balanced mix of individuals who ensure funding goes to where it is needed most.
