Third Bright Red Nurse starts role at QE Gateshead

Third Bright Red Nurse starts role at QE Gateshead

We are very pleased to share that our Bright Red Nurse Susan Davison has started her new role at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead, thanks to our investment of over of £55,000.

The new role will improve patient experience in the hospital, with our funding enabling the QE Gateshead team to have a Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialist present in all consultant clinics and to spend more time supporting patients, families and staff on the wards and day units.

We are now funding three nursing posts across the region, with Bright Red Nurses already in post at the Northern Centre for Cancer Care at the Freeman Hospital and the Sunderland Royal Hospital, and we will soon have two more Bright Red Nurses taking up posts at The Friarage Hospital and at North Tyneside Hospital.

Our funding of these Bright Red Nurses is a large investment from our charity in to patient care in the region and we are proud to fund these roles as part of our mission to fight blood cancer for a brighter future.

We all wish Susan all the best in her new role!
