Meet our Ambassador: Phil
In 1999 my wife Eileen found a lump in her breast and had an appointment at Hexham Hospital to
have it investigated, a little time later we went to see a cancer specialist who said I have some good news and some bad news, the good news is the lump is not cancerous, but we found you have leukemia.
After we got over the shock. Eileen was then referred to the R.V.I. for treatment with Doctor Jackson ( now Professor Jackson). The R.V.I Cancer unit was transferred to the Freeman
Hospital where she has received first class treatment.
It must have been around 2011 when Eileen was told she had to have a series of treatment which lasted about six month, it was during this treatment that I saw a small notice
informing people about Bright Red and I thought I would like to get involved with this charity which I did. The good news is she is now clear of Leukaemia.
